On friday I went to a classical concert, and my friend told me this: "A good pianist makes you think "wow, he's so good", but a great pianist makes you think "wow, that piece is so good".
Your reviews make these books feel like beautiful must reads. (starting them soon... so if anyone wants to mini-book club discusssion lmk!)
thank you for sharing this! in the dream house is one of my favorite books of all time 🩷 i rarely see people discussing it and you wrote about it (and all of the other books) so beautifully
Crying in H Mart is I think the only memoir I go back and read, I fully agree it deserves five stars if I could it would have more. I’ve been putting of reading Sally Rooneys other books beside normal people because I don’t think I can love another book of hers quite like Normal people but this has bumped them up for me to read sooner, same with Beartown that one is higher up on the list now. I’ve had a love hate relationship with The Great Gatsby at times but I think it’ll be near to my heart since it was the first classic I picked out myself to read.
I saw Wuthering Heights in the photo so I clicked real fast (because it's my absolute favourite book). But so many of your selections matched my taste, especially Anne Of Green Gables, whenever I'm feeling low, I turn to that book and so far, it hasn't failed me even once.
I have read and loved a number of books on this list. I listen to a lot of Audible books, so I am going to go through this whole list and finish it. Hamnet should be on it!
Thanks for posting that. Plenty to explore – and I can just add, what a shame that Donna Tartt's books take years to appear… though perhaps one is due soon?
I’m doing macbeth in my English module rn and everyone thinks it’s so lame. It is such an amazing play and it does not get the appreciation it deserves from students. I’m so glad to be doing it for the second time

Love so many of these books! I've added a few to my TBR list now!
What a list of wonderful books - many I haven't read. I loved reading "Crying in H Mart" and "Pachinko".
Wonderful list. Lots of my 5 star reads on there too 💌

Love the Calvino reference. I wrote a similar piece all about how his, The Baron in the Trees was the first 5/5 book I’ve read in so long. Fun list!
So many here that we have read and loved too and a few that keep cropping up that we should really get to!
